Birmingham Tech Week made us realise how amazing this city really is

Last week was our inaugural presentation / talk where we had the privilege to be part of the first ever Birmingham Tech Week.

As I’ve always stated, we created {CX}² Talent Solutions to give back to the community. Our first community goal was to deliver a presentation at Birmingham Tech Week discussing a topic we are passionate to promote and change. We are pleased to have hit that goal, but what has amazed me the most from such a fabulous week, are the people who we have had the pleasure of meeting during that time.

Doing recruitment (the old school way), you are tasked with picking up the phone and trying to build relationships (or get quick wins – depending on who your boss is) and I can safely say that in the last few weeks we have probably done more “productive” meetings than I have over the last 9 years, because I am doing it “Our Way”. Not only this, but the Birmingham tech scene is one of the most passionate, humble and genuinely collaborative cities I have known since I have been doing this job and it is so contagious!

I am glad we did that presentation on the skills gap, because suddenly we have found our next project (more exciting news, to be announced SOON on that note) but the people we have had the privilege of connecting with and joining forces with has allowed us to carry on our journey of being an out and out community-focused talent solutions business.

That picture I have shared has remained on my children’s playroom window since I wrote it up there 10 weeks ago as I tried to find the areas that we felt defined “Community” for us, and I am looking at it as I type this new blog.

This week we have met with the Princes Trust and Solihull College, in what promises to be a fascinating announcement in the upcoming weeks. Our promise to help to inspire the next generation of tech professionals will continue and our next goals have been set which we promise, we will deliver on!
